Every beach has its own character, history, conditions. Here's how to know where to put your board down depending on the day.
Capbreton is the most versatile base in the area. The Gouf de Capbreton acts as a natural breakwater, making the town less sensitive to big swells than its neighbours, ideal for finding a surfable wave almost every day. From Capbreton's central beach down to the VVF/Océanides, there's a spot for every level or mood.
Hossegor carries the worldwide reputation of Landes surfing, driven by spots like La Nord and La Gravière, known to professional surfers everywhere. Powerful waves, sometimes downright intimidating, reserved for those who already know what they're doing, unless you head to La Sud, a much easier spot that can work as a fallback when the swell gets big.
Seignosse lines up several kilometres of west-facing beach, with waves that generally run longer and more accessible than Hossegor's. The perfect playground to progress on a longboard or a mid-length, without the pressure of the more committing spots.
